under canvas rushmore elopement inspiration
I am so excited to share this shoot with you! I love the idea that Under Canvas has created and have really wanted to create some inspiration there. Luckily a new one just opened in South Dakota this past May! I also really wanted to see Sylvan lake and shoot some bridals there! The opportunity came about after I came up with a new idea that I wanted to offer my clients called the Roaming Lovers package, which you can read more about HERE! I knew Under Canvas and Sylvan lake were the perfect locations to bring it to life.
I had a lot of fun pulling details together for this shoot, some of which I actually found at a local antique shop! That rad bolo tie, antiques shop. The super rad post cards of Sylvan lake from the 80’s or 90’s, the antique shop! You know I was freaking out in the store the moment I found those. That Gorgeous Rue De Seine dress is from the awesome ladies at A and bé bridal in Minneapolis ( which also happens to be where I found my own wedding dress!) That stunning bouquet is from Crabapple floral in Bismarck, it was the perfect mix of color and texture for that dress. I had fun playing with the food setup and just picked it all up at local stores around town. I also tried my hand at dying cheese cloth, which went well… eventually haha! The models, who are a real life couple, Emily and Andres were AMAZING! They literally drove all the way to South Dakota for this shoot and were so much fun to explore with. Not to mention they’re gorgeous so it really just made my job that much easier! And does that dress not fit her PERFECTLY!? They also were down to jump into the lake at the end of the evening! As a creative it is so fun and definitely needed to be able to take a break from the hustle and bustle of a busy season and just play around with ideas and bring something new to life!
