Putting something a little more personal on the blog today! Josh and I got to spend a week in the Riviera Maya for our honeymoon at the end of November, and it was amazing. We had so much fun relaxing and being in the sun all week. Josh got a nasty cold but still managed to enjoy the week. We got to swim in the ocean, drink a million Pina coladas and made friends with an iguana living by our room, ate so much food, bartered with the locals, saw dolphins and snorkeled, paddle boarded, snorkeled cenotes and repeled into them, zip lined and so much more. We stayed at the Barcelo Maya and it was heaven, everyone was so nice and the place was beautiful! One of our favorite excursions was Jungla Maya, we got to go to a Mayan ranch and repel down into a cenote, then snorkel through it, go on 5 zip lines ( one went into the water) and then got to snorkel through the longest underwater cave system. To top it off we had a homemade authentic meal made for us! It was one of our favorite experiences. We also got to see Tulum and the archeological site, which was so cool to see and learn about and the beach was INCREDIBLE! If only we had more time there, and go figure the one day I bring the go pro instead of my phone we end up in the one place that has a go pro/drone fee, so I only snuck one blurry photo on the beach haha! It was still so cool to see. We also got to see shows every night and each one was different and unique. It was a hard goodbye and after a slight and brief panic at the airport we made it back home!
I brought my go pro and my film camera for something different (and my phone obviously) so the photos below are a mix:)
– Enjoy! – its a long one
Our beautiful resort! The Barcelo Maya – Riviera Maya! Can’t get enough of that beach!!
